Paying Tribute to Stevie Wonder

“Don’t you worry 'bout a thing” with this groovy and bluesy tribute

Why you should see this show….

A jazz-orientated, R&B-type of sound underpinned by smooth vocals, The Reid Project takes on a variety of musical styles while still maintaining a sound that is uniquely their own. Tonight, they pay tribute to one of their major influences as well as one of the most successful performers of the 20th century.

The Reid Project Bio
A musical collaboration which encompasses a wide variety of musical styles while always maintaining a distinctive style of it’s own. The key word is collaboration as each of the members of the Reid Project bring something unique to the table and provide a sense of energy and urgency to the music. The range of material is very wide and listeners can expect to hear anything from funk to jazz to blues to rock.

Lonnie Reid played in a number of R&B and fusion bands in the early eighties before taking a twelve year hiatus from performing. Returned to the live music scene when he joined Bluelite Special. Shortly afterwards he and Terry Reid (Reid Brothers) along with Butterscotch collaborated to form The Reid Project.

Early on, the Reid Project was heavily blues oriented as they backed Cleveland blues singer Butterscotch for a number of years and had a lot of fun doing it. As time went Terry Reid had to drop out of playing gigs due to the responsibilities involved in having young children although he continued playing and recording. Butterscotch and the Reid Project kept rolling and released the Scotch and Water CD.

The current version is: Lonnie Reid (guitar, background vocals), Benny Mostella (trumpet, lead and backgroud vocals), Robert Booker (drums), Robyn Lanier (keyboards), Kyle Morris (bass), Terry Reid (bass)
