Why you should see this show…
Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Peter Mayer brings his acclaimed Christmas tour to the stage this holiday in “A Stars and Promises Christmas – “This Town.” Mayer is a frequent traveler in the musical world, sharing the stage with James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Don Henley, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews and many others. Many know him best for his 35 years as lead guitarist for Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band, and from his own career as a songwriter-performer which include: Warner Bros. Artist PM, the Peter Mayer Group, and his collaboration with his son Brendan Mayer.
His own musical journey includes more than 20 albums, among them, four Christmas albums. This marks the ensemble’s 27th year captivating crowds nationally with a world class group of musicians that includes violin, woodwinds, bagpipes, electric and acoustic guitars, percussion, electric and acoustic bass, and the rich harmony of five voices all moving seamlessly through an array of styles: Celtic reels, folk songs, world music rhythms, classical carols, jazz and rock ‘n roll, along with a nod to the music of Jimmy Buffett.
Mayer muses; “I love this season of the year, celebrating the timeless songs and traditions of Christmas from around the world. Our theme for this year, “This Town,” focuses on the places we call home. As we navigate a lightning paced world, spanning great distances, Christmas calls us back to the friends, family and places that have raised us. As in the humble beginnings of the first Christmas, “This Town” must be the place where Joy, Hope, Peace and the spirit of giving we sing of each Christmas begins.
In that spirit of giving, each Stars & Promises performance will benefit a local food bank and/or charity in “This Town.”
Peter Mayer Bio
As a young child in Tamilnadu India (where his parents were Lutheran Missionaries), Peter Mayer had a passion for music. Drawing on musical influences from his eastern and western upbringing, Mayer’s music freely travels over diverse harmonic, melodic and lyrical roads from The Beatles, rock ’n roll, church hymns, classical music, pop, and his years of studying jazz guitar. After moving back to the United States, he went on to study formal theory and composition and taught jazz guitar as a faculty member at Webster University. In 1988, Mayer released his debut album for Warner Brothers Records with the group PM. Working with producer Elliott Scheiner (Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Hornsby) – this album produced the single “Piece of Paradise,” charting to number eight on Billboard.
Mayer began touring with Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band in 1988 as lead guitarist, a position that he holds to this day. He regularly tours with his own bands, including Peter Mayer Group, Peter Mayer’s Songs of Faith, Peter & Brendan and Stars & Promises Christmas.

Our Concert Hall menu is fast to the table and allows you to dine right in your ticketed seat. Tableside food service will start when doors open and the kitchen will close approximately halfway through the show. Tableside beverage service will continue throughout the concert.
