Why you should see this show…

Rust belt singer-songwriter and guitarist Marc Lee Shannon’s more than 30-year career has taken him from his hometown of Akron, Ohio to Los Angeles and back again. After leaving home at 19 to attend the Guitar Institute of Hollywood, Shannon found himself playing with now legendary West Coast bands such as the Rave-Ups, in a scene that included Lone Justice, and the Beat Farmers. Back in Ohio, he brought his extensive musical expertise to the bands The Top Kats, the Midlife Chryslers, and most notably, northeastern Ohio legend Michael Stanley’s backing group The Resonators. Tonight, he brings his new band, My Other Brothers, to Music Box.

Marc Lee Shannon & My Other Brothers Bio
In late 2022, two brothers, a kid wonder, and a sideman refugee from the band of an Ohio legend got together for some gigs at The Jenks Building, a small listener-supported club in Cuyahoga Falls. Marc Lee Shannon, My Other Brothers, was born from those nights, the camaraderie of a two-guitar, bass-and-drums fraternity, and well-crafted songs framed in the attic of a small town working-class house. Marc Lee Shannon, formerly of Michael Stanley’s Resonators (25 years and 23records); brothers Dean Anshutz (Red Wanting Blue) and Kurt Anshutz (Easton Union); and co-producer Michael Weber Jr., an uber-talented multi-instrumentalist, have created a one-of-a-kind, moment-in-time record that perfectly captures the season, the tunes, and the players.

The album was recorded from late November 2023 through spring 2024, with Ryan Humbert from the band The Shootouts handling preproduction and tracking production supervision. Jim Stewart Recording sat behind the faders for tracking and mixing engineering.Tiffany Turner sang and recorded additional background tracks, which her husband, Nashville’s Lee Turner from
Darius Rucker’s band, recorded in his 2Twenty2 Studio.
