Story topic this week…

A Night of Classic Irish Tales
Picture yourself in a cozy pub, with the sound of laughter and traditional Irish music filling the air. As the evening unfolds, you’re transported into a world of magical folklore and captivating legends. These stories will return you to a time of bravery and honor, where heroes and villains clash in epic battles. Sit back, relax, and let the enchanting world of Irish tales unfold before you. Prepare to be whisked away on a journey filled with magic, mystery, and the rich folklore of the Emerald Isle.

Patrick Custy Bio

Patrick Custy comes by Irish music and storytelling organically, growing up on a farm in Dysart, County Clare. Neighbors often gathered in the Custy home and provided a rich tapestry of tales and melodies against the glow of the cast iron stove and the crackling warmth of turf fires in the Burren stone chimney built by his father. A sales engineer for Zoom by day, Pat blends the essence of his cultural heritage from Clare with his life in Northeast Ohio. His captivating songs and stories resonate with audiences on both sides of the pond.

Tommy Mulloy Bio

The son of Irish immigrants, journalist and photographer Tommy Mulloy is a former member of the improv cast of “Flanagan’s Wake,” toured Ireland with the Cleveland Irish Players, for the past decade has hosted the TV20 broadcast of Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day parade and in his youth spent many hours at the West Side Irish-American Club “volunteering” under his father’s direction and also marched with the club’s fife & drum parade units.

Sean Lackey Bio

Sean Lackey is a Cleveland-based actor, producer, and writer known for character-driven storytelling that blends humor, heart, and real-life experience. He wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the independent feature film The Yank (2014), shot in Cleveland and Ireland and featuring actors Colm Meaney, Fred Willard, and Kevin Farley. Sean is also a longtime producer and performer with Cleveland’s beloved interactive comedy Flanagan’s Wake, helping carry on one of the city’s longest-running theatrical traditions. His additional film credits include acting and co-producing roles on projects such as 7 Nights of Darkness. Deeply rooted in Northeast Ohio’s creative community, Sean continues to bring authentic, locally inspired stories to stages and screens.

The goal of the Cleveland Stories Dinner Party is to bring to life some of the fun, interesting stories about Cleveland’s past – from sports, to rock ‘n roll, to Millionaire’s Row, — the series will focus on tidbits from Cleveland’s past that will really thrill the audience. The Music Box is presenting this series in partnership with the Western Reserve Historical Society’s new Cleveland History Center. We think the Cleveland History Center is one of the most important museums in Cleveland. An unknown gem that Clevelanders should know more about, and support. It is the only museum in Cleveland dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of Cleveland. The Cleveland History Center includes two mansions, the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum, Chisholm Halle Costume Wing, Research Library, Kidzibits Hands-On Gallery, rotating exhibitions, and the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel.
