Eric Roberson Bio
In the ever-evolving landscape of R&B and soul music, Eric Roberson stands as a beacon of authenticity and unparalleled talent. With a career spanning over three decades, this GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer has not only defied industry norms but has also left an indelible mark on the very essence of independent artistry. In the symphony of modern music, Eric Roberson emerges as a luminary, hailed by DJ Jazzy Jeff as “one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time.”

A Pioneer of Independence:
As a true trailblazer, Eric has navigated the music industry’s complexities with finesse, achieving what many deemed impossible as an independent artist. His commitment to creating “Honest Music” since 2001 has allowed him artistic freedom that is often elusive in mainstream circles. “I was more than willing to take less to enjoy my passion. I was fortunate to be rewarded with a career… a career that I never dreamed of,” he reflects.

Milestones and Achievements:
Eric’s journey boasts remarkable milestones, from being a sought-after songwriter and producer for luminaries like Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Dwele, to headlining sold-out tours across the nation. In 2022, he celebrated his 21st year as an independent artist, a testament to his enduring commitment to delivering soulful, authentic music.

Lessons in Music and Life:
In 2022, Eric released his 17th studio album, Lessons, a testament to his continuous growth as an artist. The lead single, “Lessons,” garnered widespread acclaim, prompting a remix featuring Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn, and Kevin Ross. This collaboration culminated in a surprise performance at the February 2022 Verzuz battle, leaving soul-music enthusiasts yearning for more.

Multifaceted Artistry:
Beyond his musical prowess, Eric’s talents extend to literature with the release of his book, Lessons (100 Thoughts on Life & Love), in March 2022. Not confined to the studio, Eric’s melodies echoed on national TV as a vocalist in the house band for Jimmy Fallon’s That’s My Jam. His influence also extends to the National Museum of African American Music, where he served as the Black Music Concert Artistic Director in 2021.

A Heartfelt Educator:
Recognizing the importance of continuous learning, Eric embraced the role of a professor at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2019. Teaching songwriting and other aspects of the music business, he views the experience as a reciprocal journey of both teaching and learning.

Personal and Professional Balance:
A loving husband and father of three sons, Eric Roberson finds profound joy in the personal roles he cherishes.
