Why you should see this show…

Broadway and concert star Daniel Reichard, best known for originating the role of Bob Gaudio in the Original Broadway Cast of Jersey Boys, returns to his hometown for a special holiday homecoming concert “Christmas In Cleveland.” A celebrated performer on some of the nation’s most renowned stages—including Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Boston’s Symphony Hall—Reichard brings his signature warmth, wit, and showmanship to an intimate evening of storytelling and song. The performance will feature highlights from his beloved New York City holiday concerts, a tradition he has upheld for many years in some of the city’s most prestigious venues, now shared with Cleveland audiences for one unforgettable night.

Daniel Reichard Bio
Daniel Reichard was born the eighth of nine children in Cleveland, Ohio. Aside from performing Steve Martin’s “King Tut” at family gatherings, his training and interest in performing was late coming. He attended the prestigious University of Michigan School of Music, where he trained in music and theater.

Shortly after arriving in New York City four years later, he booked his first job at his first audition, and spent the next year building his resume at regional theaters, such as the Goodspeed Opera House, North Shore Music Theatre, and Weston Playhouse.

Upon returning to New York City, Daniel was cast in Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration. This new edition of the popular satirical comedy revue featured three veterans of the show, and Reichard as the newbie.

Shortly after his Forbidden role, Daniel was cast as artist Keith Haring in the Public Theater’s Radient Baby directed by Tony-award-winning George C. Wolfe. Daniel then created many characters in The Thing About Men at the Promenade Theatre.

Perhaps he is best known for his portrayal of songwriter Bob Gaudio in the Broadway sensation Jersey Boys, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination in his Broadway debut. Critic John Simon called him “Terrific.” USA Today called his performance, “convincing and endearing,” while the New York Post titled his performance as “perfect.”

Since opening on Broadway in Jersey Boys, Daniel has performed at Carnegie Hall three times. He has sung the national anthem at Yankee Stadium and at the starting line at the New York City Marathon. He sang “Oh What a Night” on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve in front of 100 million people. Countless television and stage apperances have filled his schedlue for the past several years.

Daniel played the title role of Candide in the 2008 New York City Opera production and starred in the theatrical premier of Jim Henson’s Emett Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas in 2008. In 2009, Daniel co-starred in the NYMF musical The Happy Embalmer.

As a concert singer, he has had sold-out engagements at New York City’s Joe’s Pub, the Metropolitan Room, Ars Nova, and the Cutting Room. Steadily building a following for his energetic and eccentric concerts, Daniel offers various shows; ranging from rock and pop to the Great American Songbook.
