Cleveland Boomer Memories
Take a nostalgic journey through Cleveland’s golden years with the authors of Cleveland Boomer Memories. Hear a heartwarming collection of memories from the 1950s and 1960s. From landmark institutions to everyday moments, hear about the spirit of growing up in one of America’s most beloved cities. It will be a celebration of the people, places, and playful pastimes that made growing up in Cleveland unforgettable.
Howard Zuckerman Bio
Howard Zuckerman was born and raised in Cleveland and was a Brush High School and Ohio State University graduate. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1975 and now resides in Lake Frederick, Virginia. His book, Cleveland Boomer Memories, was written to capture the times and experiences of growing up in Cleveland during the boomer years.
Ellen Jacob Bio
Ellen N. Jacob was a product of her environment. Born in Cleveland at Mount Sinai Hospital, she was a graduate of both Brush High School and Kent State University. (Yes, she was a witness to what happened there on May 4, 1970. It was life-changing.) Ellen has travelled the world, but always happily returns home to Cleveland, The Best Location in the Nation.
The goal of the Cleveland Stories Dinner Party is to bring to life some of the fun, interesting stories about Cleveland’s past – from sports, to rock ‘n roll, to Millionaire’s Row, — the series will focus on tidbits from Cleveland’s past that will really thrill the audience. The Music Box is presenting this series in partnership with the Western Reserve Historical Society’s new Cleveland History Center. We think the Cleveland History Center is one of the most important museums in Cleveland. An unknown gem that Clevelanders should know more about, and support. It is the only museum in Cleveland dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of Cleveland. The Cleveland History Center includes two mansions, the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum, Chisholm Halle Costume Wing, Research Library, Kidzibits Hands-On Gallery, rotating exhibitions, and the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel.
