Bridge The Gap
Dynamic Orchestral Rock
World Series of Rock Favorite Cover Band Contest
Why you should see this show…
Bridge The Gap is a 6-piece electric violin-fronted cover band that blends rock, pop, and modern hits with the theatrical energy of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Electric Light Orchestra. They perform songs spanning the ’60s to today — from classic rock anthems like Kansas and Journey to contemporary pop hits — all reimagined with electric violin as the lead. They layer violin, viola, cello, and bass parts across our setlist while maintaining the rock intensity and guitar-driven energy that makes these songs iconic. Whether it’s a soaring violin melody, a shredding solo, or intricate orchestral arrangements, every performance showcases the versatility and power of electric strings in a rock context.
A LEGENDARY EVENT RETURNS
The World Series of Rock was more than an all–day–and–night concert. It was an era–defining experience. Inspired by the raw energy of rock n’ roll and the communal spirit of festival culture, this iconic series originally captivated tens of thousands from 1974 to 1980 here in Cleveland. This summer, the legendary event is returning blending nostalgia with modern innovation to create a truly unforgettable celebration of music and community. More details are coming soon. As a fun way to build excitement, the The World Series of Rock is partnering with the Music Box to host the search for Cleveland’s Favorite Cover Band.
HOW IT WORKS
On Wednesdays January 6th through March 10th, the Music Box will showcase 10 bands that have been selected to compete for the World Series of Rock Favorite Cover Band.
The Grand Prize Winner will be the opening act at the upcoming World Series of Rock, and will receive a $2500 performance fee!
To determine the favorite cover band, audience members will vote every Wednesday, in-person only, for their favorite of the 10 bands. Also, a head count will be taken after intermission each night. The winning band will be chosen based on ‘favorite’ votes + final attendance. Bands are welcome to run extensive guest lists for their performances.
The winner will be announced on March 15th.
