Master musicians Justin Adams and Mauro Durante, who are rooted in very different musical traditions, bonded over a deep fascination with ancient trance rhythms. Justin Adams, guitarist, producer and composer, has deep experience in African traditions and post-punk grooves. Vocalist, violinist and percussionist Mauro Durante is one of the leading players in the pizzica style of Southern Italy and leader of Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. Together they play what could be described as trance blues from the Mediterranean and beyond.

This collaboration with Mauro Durante stems from a concert led by Ludovico Einaudi, the legendary Notte de Taranta in Puglia, where the two first played together, recognising kindred spirits in the trance rhythms of Taranta which transcend “melancolia” or the blues. Mauro Durante toured the world for many years with Ludovico Einaudi playing violin and frame drums. He is one of the leading players in the pizzica style of Southern Italy and leads Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, who have played great festivals all over the world. Last year they were featured in their own concert at the BBC Proms (where Justin Adams guested with them) and they won Best Group in the Songlines Music Awards.
The duo won Songlines magazine’s Best Fusion Artist award in 2022. Their 2024 CD titled Sweet Release was chosen as one of the best albums of 2024 by Songlines, il giornale della musica, Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Blogfoolk, Globofonie, Izvorišta, World Music Charts Europe, Transglobal World Music Chart, World Music Central, Podwireless – Local Music From Out There and many others.

Purchase of a ticket to a show in the Supper Club ensures you will have a seat for the concert. If you are attending a concert in the Supper Club with a party of two or more, please have one person make a reservation for the whole group to ensure you are seated together. If you are attending with a party of nine or more, you must call the Box Office to make your reservation at (216) 242-1250.
To better serve all our customers, we require that you arrive on time for your dining reservation. Arriving more than 15 minutes after your reserved time will result in the cancellation of your reservation. You will be seated for the concert, but you may be put on a waiting list for dining.
