Burt Bacharach is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential figures of 20th-century popular music. He was the composer of hundreds of pop songs, many with lyricist Hal David. His songs have been covered by thousands of artists. Bacharach wrote hits for singers such as Dionne Warwick, Marty Robbins, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, and B. J. Thomas, and more.
He wrote 73 U.S. and 52 UK Top 40 hits including “This Guy’s in Love with You”, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”, “(They Long to Be) Close to You”, “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” , “That’s What Friends Are For” (Warwick, 1986), and “On My Own”. During his life, he won six Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards, and one Emmy Award.
Tonight, Music Box favorite Nitebridge will perform a special concert celebrating his songs.
