Dan Ruminski tells stories that illuminate what made Cleveland great in the last decades of the 19th century and the first three decades of the 20th century. He is motivated by more than the glamour or nostalgia associated with the history of this region. He wishes, with stories of the past, to help discussion on how we can renew our civic greatness.

“Cleveland’s history is rich in stories of creativity, imagination, determination, and courage. I want to celebrate individual Clevelanders and the great families who changed this area and the world. I want to inspire audiences and light up the hearts and minds of Cleveland’s younger citizens, help our community find its way to a future that honors and learns from achievements of our past. I want to promote the community I loved as a boy and still do.” — Dan Ruminski, Cleveland Storyteller

WRAP – Willoughby Rotary Autism Project

WRAP provides iPads to Autistic Children for:
• enhanced communication
• learn new skills
• provide the means to have fun, be creative, and feel good about themselves

Why iPads?
Research has determined that autistic children who have difficulty communicating can have their communication skills improved dramatically with iPads. Older tools such as cards or even regular computer screens are limited in keeping the autistic user interested. The touch screen and layout make the iPad easier to use for individuals with coordination or learning difficulties. Typing is not required, as many apps feature bright, colorful icons that are manipulated by tapping and sliding. The iPad can help individuals with autism improve basic social, fine motor, language and communication skills. Users learn to communicate and express themselves with their iPad without the frustration they commonly experience.
